Privacy policy

Forewritten is run by Darius, trading as Forewritten, in the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the information described here. Contact: hello@forewritten.com.

The short version: your free reading happens in your browser and is not sent to us. We only receive your details if you save a reading to our servers by buying a report, and we never sell or share them for advertising.

The free reading

Your first name and date of birth are used in your browser to calculate your free chapters. They are not sent to our servers. Your reading and any notes stay in the page until you close it, unless you choose Save my book on this device. Saving keeps your first name, birthday, current chapter and notes in your browser only; they are not uploaded or synced. Anyone using the same browser profile can see them. You can delete them with Delete saved book & notes in the reading view, or by clearing this site's browser data.

Buying a report

When you order a full report we collect and store:

Your first name, date of birth and the chart facts calculated from them, to write your report.
Your email address, to deliver your private link and to answer support requests.
The order record: amount, currency, date and Stripe's payment reference. We never see or store your card details.
The finished report text and PDF, so you can read it again and so we can fix problems.

We use this information to perform the contract with you (writing and delivering your report) and for our legitimate interest in keeping the service working and preventing abuse. We do not use it for advertising and we do not sell it.

Who helps us process it

Stripe takes your payment and sees your email address and payment details. See Stripe's privacy policy.
Anthropic provides the AI that helps write your report. It receives your first name, your calculated chart facts and our writing instructions, not your email address. Anthropic does not use data sent through its API to train its models.
Resend sends the email containing your private link.
Railway hosts our report server and database, and Cloudflare serves the website and protects it from abuse. Both process routine connection logs such as IP addresses.

Some of these providers are in the United States. Transfers are covered by standard contractual clauses or the UK extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

How long we keep it

Order records and reports are kept for 6 years to meet UK accounting rules and so you can get your report again. Private links expire after 30 days, but you can request a fresh one. Server logs are kept for up to 30 days. If you ask us to delete your report and personal details, we will, keeping only the minimal accounting record the law requires.

Email

We email you only about your order unless you separately opt in to updates. Any updates email includes an unsubscribe link.

Cookies and analytics

The site uses no advertising cookies and no third-party analytics. Your browser's local storage remembers whether you have visited before, any reading you chose to save, and your sound preference. The site counts anonymous events (for example "book opened") within your browser session only; these contain no personal details.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, or to object to how we use it. Email hello@forewritten.com and we will reply within a month. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Children

Forewritten is for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger.
